Internships
The National Soccer Hall
of Fame has a number of varied internship responsibilities, generally
unpaid. Interns are expected to select a major area of concentration
for their time at the Hall of Fame, but must also be prepared and willing
to contribute in all areas. There are opportunities for various work
assignments for pay, but the opportunities are few and the remuneration
will not be substantial.
Development
The intern will assist
the Director of Development in planning and implementing the fund raising
programs of the Hall of Fame. This intern will also assist in the fulfillment
of Development objectives.
Event Promotion & Management
The
National Soccer Hall of Fame hosts a number
of major events each year. Interns will assist
in the planning, marketing, promotion and actual
operations of events.
Museum Design & Display
Interns
will assist the Director of Museum Services
in maintaining current exhibits, designing
and fabricating new exhibits, be involved in
the planning, budgeting, and contracting exhibits
fabricated by outside contractors. This intern
will also be involved in maintaining contact
with the various constituencies of the Hall
of Fame, from individuals like the Hall of
Famers to organizations like U.S. Soccer. There
are also opportunities to work within the Museum
Education Program.
Retail
Operations
An important part of any Museum
operation is admissions and the retail gift shop. Interns will be involved
in promotion of Museum admission, staff the admissions desk, and staff
the retail store.
Tournament Marketing & Operations
The
National Soccer Hall of Fame hosts a summer-long
series of youth and adult soccer tournaments.
The intern will assist in the planning, marketing
and administration of the tournaments.
Web site Design & Management
The intern will assist the
Operations Coordinator in creating, updating, and maintaining the
National Soccer Hall of Fame Web site.
Housing
Housing arrangements for those
interns from outside the area are the responsibility of the intern,
however the Hall of Fame may be able to assist in finding appropriate
housing.
